Medical Card
If you hold a medical card, you and your dependents can approve prescribed drugs, medicines, and applications at no cost. Drug Payment Scheme
The Drugs Payment Scheme helps individuals and families manage the cost of prescribed medications. Under this scheme, eligible individuals pay no more than €80* per month for approved drugs, medicines, and certain appliances within that period.

Long-Term Illness Assistance
If you have a long-term illness, you may be entitled to receive all necessary medicines and treatments free of charge, regardless of your income. For more details, visit the HSE or Citizens Information website.
Long term illnesses include:

Med 1 Forms and Tax Refunds
Did you know you can claim tax refunds on eligible expenses for medicines and medical equipment? Visit any of our pharmacies at the end of the tax year, and we’ll provide you with a MED 1 form—a detailed printout of all the medicines dispensed to you and your family during the year.
